Important Notice for Indian Nationals who are embarking on Baku, Azerbaijan.

All foreign citizens or stateless persons who arrive in Azerbaijan for more than 3 days, are required to be registered at the place of stay. For this, administration of the place where a foreign citizen or a stateless person stays or the host party should send information via the website of State Migration Service (www.migration.gov.az) , by post, e-mail (qeydiyyat@migration.gov.az) or directly submit an application form for registration of the place of stay and a copy of the passport (or other travel document) of this person to the State Migration Service within 3 days from the date of entry of the foreign citizen or stateless person to Azerbaijan. Foreign citizens and stateless persons themselves may also apply for registration of the place of stay in the above-mentioned order. After departing the place of stay, the foreign citizen and stateless person or the receiving side should notify the State Migration Service about it, and he/she is removed from the register on the basis of this information.

 IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR INDIANS LIVING ABROAD - This is to notify to all Indians living in Azerbaijan that Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi has extended financial assistance to Indian living abroad in deserving cases such as stranded Indian workers, deserted women, Indian nationals in jails, airlifting of mortal remains to India or local cremation/burial of deceased Indians, emergency medical care, boarding and lodging for distressed overseas Indian workers in households/domestic sectors and unskilled laborers, providing initial legal assistance in deserving cases. 

 

Electronic Indian Postal Order: On the initiative of Department of Personnel and Training, Department of Posts has launched a service called "eIPO" (Electronic Indian Postal Order) w.e.f. 22/03/2013. This is a facility to purchase an Indian Postal Order electronically by paying a fee on-line through e-Post Office Portal i.e.http://www.epostoffice.gov.in.  It can also be accessed through India Post websitewww.indiapost.gov.in. As per RTI Rules, 2012, fees may be paid by electronic means, if facility for receiving fees through electronic means is available with the public authority.   At present, this facility is provided only for Indian Citizens abroad across the globe to facilitate them to seek information from the Central Public Information Officers (CPIOs) under the RTI Act, 2005. Debit and Credit cards can be used to purchase eIPO. It may be noted that this facility is only for urchasing an Indian Postal Order electronically. All the requirements for filing an RTI application as well as other provisions regarding eligibility, time limit, exemptions etc., as provided in the RTI Act, 2005 will continue to apply.
